How Much Does an Electronic Signature Cost in Switzerland? 2026 Prices Compared

Depending on the provider, you pay per signature, per user or per organisation — and often a combination of these. This article compares the published prices of five providers and works through three typical cases.

The short answer: In Switzerland a single SES costs between CHF 0.50 and CHF 1, an AES between CHF 1 and CHF 3 and a QES between CHF 1.80 and CHF 5. For the QES some providers add a one-time identity verification. Subscriptions cost between CHF 10.50 and CHF 36 per user and month or, at actaSIGN, a fixed price per organisation. Usually the organisation that invites people to sign pays.

Price date: We checked all prices on the providers' websites on 3 November 2026 (sources at the end of the article). Prices excl. VAT unless stated otherwise. The actaSIGN prices are the price list for new customers from 1 January 2027. Terms change; check current prices directly with the provider.

What determines the price

  • The signature level. The simple (SES) and advanced electronic signature (AES) are enough for most contracts, because these are form-free. The qualified electronic signature (QES) is needed where the law requires written form — it is the most expensive because a recognised provider such as Swisscom Trust Services issues a qualified certificate. Which documents need which level is shown on the page Electronic Signature Switzerland.
  • The billing model. Pay-per-use (per signature only), a per-user subscription with a quota, or a price per organisation with a yearly quota.
  • Identity verification. Before the first QES the signer verifies their identity once, for example by video or Mobile ID. Some providers charge for this, others do not.
  • Volume. Packages and quotas lower the price per signature considerably.

Three worked examples

The examples use the published prices and the cheapest suitable plan, per year and excl. VAT, without identity verifications. Swisscom Sign is not included because it is a private-customer offer, Docusign is not included because its QES price is not published.

Example 1 — Small office: 2 people send documents, 200 signing processes a year with two AES each (400 AES).

ProviderPlanCost per year
actaSIGNMini: CHF 390 incl. 300 signatures, 100 more at CHF 1.00CHF 490
SkribbleTeam, 2 users: CHF 552 incl. 144 AES/QES, 256 more at CHF 2.50CHF 1,192
DeepSignDeepCloud Free, 400 AES at CHF 1.00CHF 400

Example 2 — Team with QES: 6 people, 300 signing processes with two signatures each, 100 of them with QES (200 QES and 400 AES).

ProviderPlanCost per year
actaSIGNPlus: CHF 990 incl. 600 signatures and 30 QES, 170 more QES at CHF 2.50CHF 1,415
SkribbleTeam, 6 users: CHF 1,656 incl. 432 AES/QES, 168 more AES at CHF 2.50CHF 2,076
DeepSignSmall: CHF 228, package of 500 AES for CHF 375, two packages of 100 QES at CHF 160 eachCHF 923

Example 3 — SME: 15 people, 600 signing processes with two signatures each, 200 of them with QES (400 QES and 800 AES).

ProviderPlanCost per year
actaSIGNTeam: CHF 1,990 incl. 1,000 signatures and 400 QESCHF 1,990
SkribbleTeam, 15 users: CHF 4,140 incl. 1,080 AES/QES, 120 more AES at CHF 2.50CHF 4,440
DeepSignCompact: CHF 468, package of 500 AES for CHF 375 plus 300 AES at CHF 1.00, four packages of 100 QES at CHF 160 eachCHF 1,783

What the numbers show

  • Pay-per-use is cheapest for small volumes. DeepSign charges the lowest prices per signature and leads on pure signature costs in all three examples.
  • Per-user subscriptions get more expensive with every person. At Skribble the cost grows with the number of users, even if they send little.
  • A price per organisation pays off when several people send documents and regularly need QES. At actaSIGN the price stays the same up to the plan's people limit, and signatures, QES and identity verifications are included in the yearly quota.

Price is not the only criterion. Just as important are where your data is stored, whether you can combine SES, AES and QES in one process, how you manage templates and deputies, whether there is an interface (REST API), and whether you reach a person when you have questions. A comparison of these points is in the article E-Signature Providers in Switzerland Compared.
