Transfer Mobile ID App to a New Phone

If you have a new phone, you need to set up the Mobile ID App again. You will need your recovery code, which you received during the initial setup.

Requirements

  • Your old smartphone or your safely stored recovery code
  • Your new smartphone
  • An active mobile phone number

Step-by-Step Guide

Generate a New Recovery Code (If None Is Available)

For steps 1–4, use only the old phone (SIM card must be inserted)

  1. Open the Mobile ID website on your desktop, log in with your mobile number and confirm the SMS
  2. On the dashboard, click Generate in the Recovery code tile on the right
  3. Complete the process on your phone and keep the newly generated code ready (it is valid only once)
  4. On the old phone, open the Mobile ID App, tap MORE at the bottom, select REMOVE APP ACCOUNT and confirm

Reactivate Mobile ID

Now prepare the new phone (SIM card must be inserted)

  1. Install the Mobile ID App from the App Store or Play Store
  2. Accept the privacy policy and terms of use, then continue
  3. Enter your existing mobile number and confirm the SMS
  4. When prompted for account recovery, select I know my Mobile ID recovery code and continue
  5. Enter the previously generated recovery code and continue
  6. Write down the new recovery code and store it safely. Then close the dialogue.

Verify QES

Open the Check your signature website and run a signature check.
